Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with at least 2 years of experience and ARDMS certification for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma Center in Bangor, ME.
Details
- Work is primarily based in the main hospital Ultrasound unit, with possible rotation to an affiliated Outpatient Imaging Center
- Level II Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center serving approximately two-thirds of the state, with the nearest competing trauma center over 2 hours away
- 411-bed acute care facility
- Adult patient population required; pediatric experience preferred
- Patient types and specific caseload are discussed during the manager interview
- 40-hour variable shift schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Call rotation required; details discussed during interview
- EMR: Cerner
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of sonography experience
- Current BLS certification
- ARDMS certification required — AB or OB registration required; both preferred
- Adult sonography experience required; pediatric experience preferred
- Valid compact or ME license required if applicable
- Full SSN required
- Driver's license required
- 2 references within the past year required, with at least one from a Supervisor, Manager, or Director (Charge nurse acceptable; peer references not accepted)
- Copies of all certifications required
- Candidate's permanent address must be 100+ miles south/southwest of Bangor, ME
- Candidate must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are considered provided they have at least 2 years of employment experience
- Supported by a Lead Tech and physician staff on the unit
- Flu vaccination is required for clearance to start
- Medical exemptions only are accepted for flu vaccination and must be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance for committee review
- All RTO requires manager approval
- Scrubs may be any solid, professional color; facility-provided scrubs are available if needed
- Free parking on-site
- Manager interviews are required prior to placement
