Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a night shift travel assignment at a freestanding emergency department in Derby, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care ED experience and multiple certifications including TNCC.

Details

Freestanding emergency department (FSED) setting in Derby, KS
52-bed unit with a staff of 134
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
13-week travel assignment
Patient ratios average 3:1, with low acuity cases at 5:1; pediatric patients managed with team nursing
Common procedures include IV starts, medication administration, procedural sedation, and pediatric care
Alaris infusion pumps used on unit
EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)
Day and night shifts each staffed with 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel per pod

Requirements

Active KS RN license or compact RN license required
Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital ED RN experience required
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, TNCC, and CPI (or accepted equivalent: SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA)
ENPC certification preferred
Meditech EMR experience preferred
Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume ED environment required
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
One professional reference required

Additional Information

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
All certifications must be from AHA or ARC and must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
Ideal candidates are adaptable, self-sufficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, diverse environment
The team values quick learners who can work independently from day one
Candidates with experience at large, high-volume facilities will be prioritized
