Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift travel position in Elko, NV, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ACLS/PALS certifications.
Details
- Acute care Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting (23-bed unit)
- Patient population includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Common diagnoses and treatments include COPD, CHF, pre/post cath lab, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, and acute respiratory failure (adult and pediatric)
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Equipment includes Omnicell medication dispensers, Baxter pumps, Masimo monitors, and GE telemetry monitoring system
- EMR is MEDHOST
- Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (12-hour shifts)
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Float to other departments possible based on patient census and staffing needs
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required
- AHA certifications required: ACLS and PALS (ACLS must be obtained within 60 days of start date; PALS within 90 days)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- Must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere
Additional Information
- This is a rapid response position — candidates must be able to start within 7–10 days of offer acceptance
- 10-week contract
- Med/Surg and telemetry experience preferred
- No mandatory scrub color — any color scrubs are acceptable
- Fit testing is offered on-site for travelers
- Elko, NV is approximately 3 hours from Salt Lake City and offers outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling, along with local cultural events and casinos
