Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with a minimum of 3 years of acute care hospital experience and ARDMS certifications in AB, OB, and RVT for a general and vascular ultrasound role in Hawaii.
Details
- Acute care hospital imaging department setting
- Modalities include general ultrasound (abdominal/OB) and vascular sonography
- Procedures include abdominal (aorta, IVC, liver/biliary, pancreas, spleen, renal), GYN (transvaginal, adult and pediatric), OB (all trimesters, amniocentesis, biophysical profile, IUGR, complications), neonatal (congenital anomalies, neonatal head), superficial structures (breast, thyroid, scrotum/testes, focal masses), and vascular (carotid duplex, segmental pressures, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex)
- Interventional procedures include aspirations, biopsies, drainages, and intraoperative ultrasound
- Equipment includes Canon i700 ultrasound system and Fuji Synapse PACS
- Charting performed in Meditech EMR
- Variable shift schedule with a 40-hour work week
- On-call responsibilities included as appropriate
- Floating to other units or departments may be required
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time experience as a sonographer in an acute care hospital setting
- At least one prior travel contract required
- ARDMS certification in Abdomen (AB), OB/GYN (OB), and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) required
- Active BLS certification required — must be AHA-certified
- Competency to proficiency required across general, OB, GYN, vascular, neonatal, and superficial structure ultrasound
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of assignment; this appointment is scheduled at the facility's Employee Health department and attendance is mandatory
- Travelers starting on a Monday should plan to arrive in Hawaii the preceding Thursday in order to attend their Employee Health appointment on Friday morning
- Personal scrubs and professional healthcare attire required
