Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVICU RN for a night shift travel contract requiring advanced cardiac device experience including LVAD/RVAD/Impella, IABP, and PA catheter interpretation at a Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma teaching hospital.

- CVICU setting within a 672-bed short-term acute care Magnet, teaching, Level III Trauma hospital
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours (19:00–07:30)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within the ICU community, including CVICU, Med/Surg ICU, and Neuro ICU
- Charting via Epic/Excellian — experience required
- Specialized procedures and equipment include: PA catheter interpretation and analysis, LVAD/RVAD/Impella, IABP, CRRT with Prismaflex, ECMO, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, targeted temperature management, temporary pacemakers, Heart Mate 2 & 3, Centra Mag, Balloon Pump, Endotool glucose monitoring, and bedside trachs and PEGs
- Open heart recovery direct from OR strongly preferred
- CRRT and ECMO experience preferred
Requirements
- Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
- Proficiency with PA catheter interpretation and analysis required
- Experience with LVAD/RVAD/Impella and IABP required
- Epic/Excellian EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- At least 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
- All current certifications must be provided for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Candidates who have previously worked at the facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift worked
- RTO requests should ideally not exceed 5 days for the duration of the contract
- Pre-start online modules are required to be completed before the assignment begins
- Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
- Parking is available at a flat rate of $0.55/hour
