Description

American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist - X-Ray for a 13-week evening shift contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring OR imaging experience and a broad range of X-ray competencies.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting with 562 staffed beds, Level I Trauma Center, and Magnet designation
  • Work settings include adult acute care, adult outpatient, ER, ICU, NICU, and Operating Room
  • OR imaging experience is required for this role
  • 5x8 evening shifts from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
  • Every 3rd weekend rotation required, along with holiday and on-call coverage
  • On-call required as needed
  • Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility is required of all travelers
  • Cerner EMR used; experience preferred
  • Abdomen/GI X-ray procedures include abdomen decubitus, abdomen supine (KUB), and abdomen upright
  • Chest and thorax procedures include chest AP, chest lateral decubitus, chest routine, and upper airway (soft tissue neck)
  • Head X-ray procedures include facial bones, orbits, paranasal sinuses, skull, and temporomandibular joints
  • Lower extremity X-ray procedures include ankle, femur, foot, knee, and tibia-fibula
  • Mobile/surgical X-ray procedures include C-arm, portable abdomen, and portable chest
  • Spine and pelvis procedures include cervical spine, hip, lumbar spine, pelvis, sacrum/coccyx, and thoracic spine
  • Upper extremity procedures include clavicle, elbow, forearm, hand, scapula, shoulder, trauma shoulder or humerus (scapular Y, transthoracic axial), and wrist
  • Required equipment experience includes O-ARM and C-arm

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of X-ray technologist experience required
  • Active ARRT certification required
  • Active BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
  • Active IL state license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
  • Experience across adult acute care, adult outpatient, ER, ICU, NICU, and OR settings required
  • Proficiency with O-ARM and C-arm equipment required
  • Level I Trauma experience preferred
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
  • Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
  • Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
  • Travel pairs are not accepted
  • Any solid color scrubs are acceptable
  • Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
