Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of acute care experience and the ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes chest pain, CAD, DM, PVD, COPD exacerbation, COVID+, TIA, stroke, hypertension, AFib, AFlutter, bradycardia, tachycardia, GI bleed, wound infection, and cellulitis
• Cardiac drip management (rhythm management, not titrated for blood pressure)
• Pre and post angiogram/angioplasty care (no sheath pulls); procedures include PPM/AICD, LINQ recorder, EGD, colonoscopy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, wound debridement, chest tube, central line catheter insertions, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
• Equipment used includes telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, and wound vacs
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)

Requirements

• Active LA or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias required
• ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications preferred (AHA-issued)

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Upon accepting an assignment, the unit manager may assign travelers to an Emergency Team, requiring them to remain at the facility during an emergency event or serve on the relief team
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
