Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring TNCC, ACLS, PALS, and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.
Details
- Work setting is a Level I Trauma Center with a dedicated Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- Weekend requirement: 3 weekends (Fri–Sun) per 4-week schedule, with 1–3 days worked per weekend
- Patient ratios are typically 1:5–6 and may reach up to 1:8 during high-volume periods and holidays
- Floating to the Pediatric ED is possible
- Epic EMR is used; training provided during orientation
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required (compact licenses not accepted in Michigan)
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA preferred), ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale
- ENPC certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- All certifications must be active and not pending at the start of the assignment
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- RTO must be submitted at the time of application; no additional RTO requests will be approved after submission
- No RTO will be approved during the month of July
- Maximum of 5 days RTO per assignment
- Online modules are completed prior to the assignment start date
- Former core staff members must wait 12 months before returning and should be verified through HR prior to consideration
- Preferred experience includes continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration, and triage
