Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring TNCC, ACLS, PALS, and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.

Details

  • Work setting is a Level I Trauma Center with a dedicated Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department
  • Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
  • Weekend requirement: 3 weekends (Fri–Sun) per 4-week schedule, with 1–3 days worked per weekend
  • Patient ratios are typically 1:5–6 and may reach up to 1:8 during high-volume periods and holidays
  • Floating to the Pediatric ED is possible
  • Epic EMR is used; training provided during orientation
  • No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

  • Active MI RN license required (compact licenses not accepted in Michigan)
  • Current certifications required: BLS (AHA preferred), ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale
  • ENPC certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
  • All certifications must be active and not pending at the start of the assignment
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • RTO must be submitted at the time of application; no additional RTO requests will be approved after submission
  • No RTO will be approved during the month of July
  • Maximum of 5 days RTO per assignment
  • Online modules are completed prior to the assignment start date
  • Former core staff members must wait 12 months before returning and should be verified through HR prior to consideration
  • Preferred experience includes continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration, and triage
