Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital in Georgia, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 12 labor beds, 5 antepartum beds, 2 ORs, and a 6-bed OB emergency room
- Patient population ranges from routine to high-risk OB, including antepartum patients requiring extended stays prior to delivery or discharge
- Approximately 150–200 births per month
- Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- Fetal heart monitoring system: OB Trace
- EMR: MEDITECH (experience preferred)
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7p–7a)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- Floating to postpartum as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia (GA) or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM (Intermediate level or above)
- Minimum 2 years of L&D specialty experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- OR techs scrub for C-sections, attend vaginal deliveries, and handle all stocking; procedures performed on unit include C-sections, cerclages, and tubals
- Neonatology and OB hospitalist services are available in-house 24/7; RT and pharmacy also available 24/7
- Lactation consultants are in-house to support patients
- This is a baby-friendly designated hospital
- Hospital scrubs are provided
- Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
- Holidays are rotated with permanent staff
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates must reside more than 72 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
