Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced IR RN for a Level I Trauma acute care hospital in Arizona, requiring Neuro IR experience and ACLS/BLS certifications for a 13-week travel contract.

Details

  • Interventional Radiology unit within a Level I Trauma acute care hospital
  • Facility includes 5 angio rooms, 2 CT scanners, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine
  • Cases include body IR procedures: chemo embolization, Y-90, GJ tube placement, IVC filters, vascular access, angiograms, CT biopsy, ablations, US biopsies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and neuro endovascular/stroke treatment
  • Patient population includes both outpatient and inpatient, including critical care and telemetry patients
  • IR techs, CT techs, nuclear medicine techs, and ultrasound techs on staff
  • Hospitalist/intensivist, RT (24/7), pharmacy (24/7), VAT team for PICC lines, and SWAT team for difficult IV starts available
  • Telemetry and ventilator management involved in this role
  • Cerner EMR used; experience preferred
  • 4x10-hour day shifts (0700–1730 or 0730–1800 based on need), with call shifts averaging 4–5 per month
  • Occasional Saturday shifts 1–2 times per month; possible holiday coverage as needed
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active AZ RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license currently in hand — pending licenses not accepted
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required — pending certifications not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Neuro IR experience is required
  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • ICU RN background with IR experience may be considered in lieu of IR RN background
  • Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to offer confirmation; candidates have 2 attempts
  • Must provide a valid driver's license (used to verify permanent address)
  • Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; driver's license is used to verify permanent address
  • BSN not required

Additional Information

  • Candidate must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
  • On Day 1 of orientation, RNs must pass a pass/fail SIMs Lab assessment covering sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes — nurses have been terminated for breaking sterile field during this assessment
  • Orientation also includes non-evaluative modules on lifts, restraints, and wound care
  • Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Natural hair color and no facial piercings are required; men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
  • Travelers must have their own personal vehicle
