Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Neuroscience Med/Surg Night Shift position in Saint Louis, MO, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient acute care Med/Surg and Neuro experience and an active MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Neuroscience/Neurology unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Patient population includes stroke, seizures, MS, spinal, head, and back injuries, as well as post-neurosurgery patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5–6
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Rotating weekends required (every other Saturday and Sunday)
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating within scope as needed
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- On-site FIT testing required
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled
- Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient acute care Med/Surg and Neuro experience required
- Willingness to take on occasional Charge RN responsibilities
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient-centered care including assessment, care coordination with other departments, and evaluation of care provided by other direct caregivers
- Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
- Charge RN experience is preferred but not required
- Black scrubs required
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will receive a reduced bill rate
- Candidates living within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after completing 3 contracts, a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
- Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) per 13-week period is allowed and must be made up during the assignment
- Candidates should expect to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
- 13-week contract with potential extension up to 26 weeks
