Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a day shift travel position at an acute care hospital in Salem, VA.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy department in a 500+ bed acute care hospital
• Day shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Rotating weekend schedule
• Procedures performed include HHN, CPT, BiPAP and vent management, and extubation
• Equipment used includes EPOC Blood Gases, PB 840, Newport, ReVel, LTV, and V60 ventilators
• EMR: Meditech
• Day shift team consists of 6 therapists including a charge person
• Floating required to CICU, SICU, MICU, and step-down units
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Active experience in the specialty within the last 6 months required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
• Proficiency in basic floor therapies including nebulizer treatments, CPT, nocturnal pulse oximetry, and ABG collection
• BiPAP management skills required
• Vent management experience preferred
• ICU experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible for this position
• NRP certification required if assigned to care for neonatal patients
