Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Neurosurgery and ENT unit, requiring a valid NC or compact RN license and at least one year of nursing experience.

Details

• 18-bed acute post-op unit specializing in Neurosurgery and ENT patients
• Neurosurgery cases include brain and spinal surgeries, traumas, cancer, stroke, and intracranial bleeds
• ENT cases include head and neck malignancies, cancer, infection, and procedures involving the head, mouth, tongue, jaw, thyroid, and oropharynx
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (standard or compact) required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Must be available for every other holiday (EOH) coverage
• May be required to function as charge nurse; training will be provided
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, discharge planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and point-of-care testing
• Promotes culturally competent, cost-effective, and safety-focused patient care
