Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital in California, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Night shift position: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- 266-bed acute care hospital located beachside in California
- Labor & Delivery unit featuring 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms
- Patient population includes high-risk pregnancies, antepartum, triage, and labor and delivery cases
- Procedures include fetal heart monitoring, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries
- Floating to postpartum (couplet care) required when census demands
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Block scheduling considered at manager's discretion
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
- Required certifications: AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring or NCC EFM, ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, and FHM
- Epic EMR experience required
- Ability to perform postpartum couplet care (newborn and maternal); newborn role in delivery a plus
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Scrubs are provided for L&D nurses (Navy Blue is the standard RN color)
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- RTO requests must be submitted at the time of profile consideration; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
- Former permanent staff of this Providence facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility should inquire about local rate eligibility
- All travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
- Previous work history at any Providence facility (travel, permanent, or per-diem) must be disclosed, including location and dates
