Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool RN for a night shift, every-other-weekend position requiring MA RN licensure and telemetry experience across multiple units.

Details

• Float pool role covering 8 Med/Surg Telemetry areas including Davenport 5, 7, 8, 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, and Overflow
• Care for ED boarder patients, act as medication nurse in the acute mental health unit, and manage non-vented, transfer-ready ICU patients
• Clinician to patient ratios up to 5:1 on days/evenings and up to 6:1 on nights
• Hospital bed count of 371 with unit census ranging from 8 to 41 beds
• Night shift schedule (19:00-07:30) with every other weekend required
• Rotation to days/evenings required, with 1 to 3 rotations to nights per contract
• 36-hour weekly schedule over a 13-week assignment
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional or pending licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS certification required
• 2 years of acute care hospital experience in one location required
• 2 years of experience working as a Traveler required
• Telemetry monitoring skills including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours
• TR Band experience required
• Must be able to perform cardiac drips and read telemetry strips
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Additional Information

• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, and reading telemetry strips
• Must be willing to float between 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units as needed
• Free on-site parking available
• Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the hospital in Boston and will receive a reduced rate
• RTO must be disclosed at the time of consideration
