Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a PACU/Pre-Op position requiring active MA licensure, prior travel experience, and rotating on-call availability.
Details
- Rotating position between Pre-Op (5 bays) and PACU (8 bays) in a hospital setting
- Pre-Op shift hours: 6:00a–4:30p; PACU shift hours: 8:00a–6:30p
- On-call is required approximately once per week; on-call working shift runs 11:30a–10:00p followed by on-call coverage 10:00p–7:00a
- Weekend on-call required approximately every 4–5 weeks, covering Saturday 7:00a through Monday 7:00a
- 10-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week, rotating schedule; block scheduling is not available
- Lines of service include General, GYN, Urology, Plastics, Ortho (Total Joint, Sports Med, Podiatry, Hand), Vascular, Endoscopy (performed in OR), and IR cases requiring anesthesia
- PACU manages occasional vasopressor support (e.g., Neo) as needed
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible and will be placed at the local pay rate
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required (current or conditional); NURSYS report must reflect active status
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 2+ years of Pre-Op/PACU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience is required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Charge nurse capability is highly preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two recent supervisor or manager references from Pre-Op/PACU within the last 1–2 years required for consideration
- Driver's license with address matching demographics required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required during flu season
Additional Information
- Nurse must float between Pre-Op and PACU as part of regular duties
- Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned based on capability
- Scrubs are provided by the unit; any color is acceptable
- Every other major holiday coverage is required
- RTO must be submitted upfront; no more than 5 days will be considered
- Orientation is held bi-weekly
