Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a NICU-based night shift travel assignment requiring floating across NICU, pediatric, and adult acute care settings.
Details
- 13-week travel assignment at an acute care hospital in Indiana
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 17:30–06:00
- 4x12-hour shifts every other weekend (EOW)
- Holiday coverage required — candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Float between NICU, pediatric acute care, and adult acute care — floating is a requirement of this position
- Patient populations include neonatal, pediatric, and adult
- Respiratory care duties include airway management, vent management, ABGs, O2 therapy, BiPAP, CPAP, nebulizer treatments, pulmonary toileting, suctioning, and medication administration
- Cerner charting is required
- Preferred experience with Hamilton G5 and Philips V60 ventilators
- Preferred experience with bronchoscopy
- Trauma, teaching hospital, and ER experience preferred
Requirements
- Active NBRC RRT credential required
- Indiana RN or Compact License required — license must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA and RQI accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- COVID and Flu vaccines required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates; local candidates may be accepted at a modified pay package
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset travel eligibility — out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
