Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in New York, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule-out cases
• Patient ratios: 1:6 on days, 1:7 on nights, and 1:8 on weekends
• Day shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management skills required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Experience with blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, and IV placement required
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), and non-invasive airway management required
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE required
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, CVA and seizure disorder care, and substance withdrawal management
• Any color nursing uniform is acceptable
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of initial application
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
