Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position at a Level 1 Trauma, academic teaching hospital, requiring interventional scrub experience and a valid MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Cath Lab of a large, short-term acute care hospital with 1,266 staffed beds
- High-volume, high-acuity procedural environment managing diagnoses including AMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, heart failure, aortic stenosis, V-Tach, Afib, endocarditis, peripheral vascular disease, and sick sinus syndrome
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Rotating 4x10 schedule with shifts covering 0700–1730 (standard and late) and 1000–2030 (close), as needed per unit
- Every other weekend required
- Rotating on-call required, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, subject to change based on unit needs
- Floating within service line required
- Epic EMR used; Epic experience is required
- Specialized equipment includes Impella and IABP
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license (must be in hand at time of consideration; pending IL license may be accepted with notation)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
- Interventional scrub experience required
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma, high-volume, high-acuity Cath Lab strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Experience with Impella and IABP preferred
Additional Information
- RN Circulator role supporting diagnostic and interventional PCI procedures, including administering conscious sedation under attending direction, handing off sterile supplies, assessing vitals, and documenting in Epic
- Cross-training to run hemodynamics in a monitor tech role is likely
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Standard travelers may work up to 18 months continuously, after which a 3-month break is required
- Navy scrubs are required
- Parking passes are available for purchase through the facility's Public Safety department at various nearby lots and garages
