Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Interventional Radiology position at a large academic Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of IR experience, ACLS/BLS certifications, and an active MO or Compact RN license.
Details
- Work setting is a large, short-term acute care academic teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center with 1,259 staffed beds
- Interventional Radiology unit supporting neuro-interventional procedures such as neuro-angiograms for patients ranging from outpatients to critical ICU-level patients
- Patient population includes various neurological diagnoses
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day shift, 4x10 schedule, 7:30–18:00
- On-call is required: weeknight call runs 16:00–07:30 and is scheduled approximately every 1–2 weeks; weekend call runs Friday 16:00 through Monday 07:30 and is assigned twice per 13-week contract
- Backup expectation: approximately once per week, the RN may be designated to remain past the end of shift to complete ongoing procedures
- Saturday work required approximately every 5th or 6th weekend, 08:00–16:00 as needed
- No floating required
- Charting is done in Epic
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or Compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology RN experience required
- Experience administering procedural sedation (e.g., fentanyl and versed) required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- RNs administer procedural sedation and support patients undergoing neuro-interventional procedures
- Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
- Navy scrubs required
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Travelers may remain at this health system for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees of this health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Monthly parking passes are available on-site at varying rates depending on location
