Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position at a large academic Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of IR experience, ACLS/BLS certifications, and on-call availability.
Details
- Work in the Interventional Radiology unit of a large, short-term acute care academic teaching hospital with 1,259 staffed beds
- Patient population includes outpatients through critical ICU patients with various neurological diagnoses
- Procedures include neuro-interventional cases such as neuro-angiograms requiring procedural sedation (typically fentanyl and versed)
- 1:1 patient ratio
- 4x10-hour shifts, 07:30–18:00
- On-call required: weeknight call runs 16:00–07:30 and is scheduled once every 1–2 weeks; weekend call runs Friday 16:00 through Monday 07:30 and is assigned twice per 13-week contract
- Once per week, travelers may be designated to stay past the end of their shift to complete pending procedures (referred to as 'Backup')
- Every 5th or 6th Saturday (08:00–16:00) required as needed
- No floating required
- Charts in Epic; Epic experience required
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or Compact RN license valid in Missouri, required at time of consideration
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology RN experience required
- Experience in neuro-interventional procedures and procedural sedation administration strongly preferred
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Administer procedural sedation and provide nursing care during neuro-interventional procedures such as neuro-angiograms
- Prior charge nurse experience is preferred
- Navy scrubs required
- Parking passes are available at nearby lots and garages for a monthly fee; travelers should contact facility Public Safety for availability and pricing
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees of this health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers may remain on assignment for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- 13-week contract minimum
