Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with neuro experience for a travel contract at a high-acuity Magnet teaching hospital in Washington state.
Details
- Operating Room (OR) setting within a 637-bed Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
- High-acuity OR environment with 28 rooms and an average daily census of 50-75
- Patient population includes orthopedic sports (limited total joints), minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general surgery, GYN, urology, and plastics
- Experience with neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular cases is a plus
- Floating to other specialties within the OR when census is low; no floating to sister hospitals
- Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
- Saturday work shift required; no on-call requirements
- Charts in Epic (experience preferred but not required)
- Scrubs are provided for OR personnel in any color
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- Neuro OR experience required
- At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital employment preferred
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
- RTO may not be requested during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum; maximum 1 week of RTO per contract
- Former UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
