Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) night shift position in Cape Girardeau, MO, requiring at least 1 year of med/surg experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Located within a 245-bed Level III Emergency and Trauma Center in Cape Girardeau, MO
• Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is an 8-bed observation/admission unit associated with the ED — this is not an ER position
• Patient population includes typical ER observation and admission cases
• Patient ratio is 1:4–6
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Alternating weekends required (every other Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to any inpatient unit per customary practice
• EMR: Epic (highly preferred)

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent med/surg experience required
• Epic EMR experience highly preferred
• Must have no employment gaps of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)

Additional Information

• Coordinates, plans, directs, and implements the nursing process within a medical-surgical CDU setting
• High volume of admissions processing is a core responsibility of this role
• The facility is accredited as a Comprehensive Cardiac Center and a Primary Stroke Center, and holds Missouri Level I STEMI and Level II Stroke Center designations
• Black scrubs required
• Flu vaccination required; exemptions must be approved by the facility
• Candidates are expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
• Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed and must be made up during the assignment
• Local candidates are welcome to apply; candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a reduced bill rate and a 3 consecutive 13-week contract maximum before a 1-year separation or transfer outside the 50-mile radius is required
