Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum (LDRP) position at a community teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience and an active NC or compact RN license.
Details
- 18-bed LDRP unit with 5 OB triage bays and 2 OB ORs at a 174-licensed-bed community hospital
- Patient population includes LDRP and GYN surgical cases, with 40–65 deliveries per month
- Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines with 1 CNA per shift
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within Region 2 (Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and Central Division including CMC Main, CMC Mercy, and Levine Children's Hospital) based on unit needs and within scope of practice — do not apply if not agreeable to this requirement
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips monitors, GE Corometrics fetal monitors, and GE Panda warmers
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Proficiency in all aspects of LDRP patient care, including circulating C-sections, newborn care (heel sticks, 24-hour testing, NAS scoring), and lactation support
- Epic EMR experience required
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
- Unit support includes a charge nurse, CNA, receptionist/HUC (24/7), case manager, respiratory therapy (24/7), hospitalist or OB physician (24/7), in-house OB physicians, pediatrician, and lactation consultants
- New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation provided
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
- RTO: Up to 6 days off may be approved, excluding holidays; missed contracted hours must be made up at the end of the contract
- Schedule is set on a 6-week cycle
- Scrubs: Navy blue or business casual to/from work; hospital-issued scrubs required while on unit
- Free parking available on site
