Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at an outpatient surgicenter in Kansas City, MO, requiring strong orthopedic surgical experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Outpatient ambulatory surgicenter setting in Kansas City, MO
• Operating Room with Pre-op and PACU coverage responsibilities
• Approximately 95% orthopedic surgical cases, including ACL repairs, total joints, and arthroscopic procedures
• Pre-op patient ratio is 1:1; PACU patient ratio is 2:1
• Floating required between Pre-op and PACU
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 12-week contract
• No weekends and no holidays required
• No EMR system in use

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Orthopedic surgical experience required — candidates without it will not be considered
• Two professional references required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include starting IVs, preparing patients for surgery, and recovering patients in Phase 1 and Phase 2 PACU
• Critical care and outpatient surgical experience are preferred
• Ideal candidates are versatile, team-oriented, and possess strong critical thinking and patient communication skills
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
• Night shift is optional
