Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at an outpatient surgicenter in Kansas City, MO, requiring strong orthopedic surgical experience and a MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Outpatient ambulatory surgicenter setting in Kansas City, MO
- Operating Room with Pre-op and PACU coverage responsibilities
- Approximately 95% orthopedic surgical cases, including ACL repairs, total joints, and arthroscopic procedures
- Pre-op patient ratio is 1:1; PACU patient ratio is 2:1
- Floating required between Pre-op and PACU
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 12-week contract
- No weekends and no holidays required
- No EMR system in use
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Orthopedic surgical experience required — candidates without it will not be considered
- Two professional references required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include starting IVs, preparing patients for surgery, and recovering patients in Phase 1 and Phase 2 PACU
- Critical care and outpatient surgical experience are preferred
- Ideal candidates are versatile, team-oriented, and possess strong critical thinking and patient communication skills
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
- Night shift is optional
