Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level 3/4 NICU night shift travel contract in Austin, TX, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience and current NRP certification.

Details

• Level 3/4 NICU in a large hospital setting with 97 beds and approximately 200 nursing staff
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Patient ratio of 3–4 patients per RN
• Equipment used includes Medfusion pumps, Alaris pumps, Giraffe isolettes, and GE monitors
• EMR systems: CPN and Meditech
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) and NRP Advanced 9th Edition (American Academy of Pediatrics card)
• Minimum 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience required
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Navy scrubs are required; no nail polish or artificial nails permitted
• First-time travelers are not preferred; experienced travelers will be given priority consideration
• Unit staffing consists primarily of RNs on both day and night shifts, with one unit clerk per shift
