Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Austin, TX, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and active certifications including EFM, ACLS, BLS, and NRP.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit located on the 4th floor of a hospital in Austin, TX
- 32-bed unit with a staff of approximately 150
- Patient ratio of 1:2, with charge and co-charge nurse support on both day and night shifts
- Typical procedures include SVDs, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLACs
- Equipment used includes Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, and ultrasound
- EMR system is Meditech
- Day shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (night shift rotation also available)
- Alternating weekend requirement
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, AAP card), and intermediate or advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring certification (or NCCEFM)
- SVE competency and C-section circulation experience required
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D nursing experience required
- STABLE certification required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Internal monitor placement competency is preferred
- Prior experience in a Level IV or high-volume L&D unit is preferred
- Previous HCA assignment or employment is a plus
- Navy blue scrubs required; solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts only — T-shirts are not acceptable
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
- AHA or ARC certifications are accepted
