Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an inpatient Rehab unit position in Independence, MO, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient Rehabilitation Center located on the 4th floor of a main hospital building
• 16-bed unit with a 1:5 patient-to-nurse ratio
• PCT support available when census is at 8 or above; no unit secretary on the floor
• Equipment includes Sara Steady lift, Hoyer lift, and Alaris Pumps
• Documentation system: Meditech 5.6
• Schedule requires 3 shifts per week, every 3rd weekend
• Travelers float first to like units per floating policy
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in inpatient rehab or a related specialty
• Med/Surg nursing background required
• Inpatient acute rehab experience required
• Familiarity with FIM and CARE Tool measures preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two professional references required for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include wound care, line insertion, and blood and antibiotic administration
• Patient experience expectations include goal setting with patients, hourly rounding, and bedside shift report
• Grey scrub top with black or grey scrub bottoms required
• 1-week orientation is included in the contract
• Block scheduling is available upon request
• All rooms are private and set up as rehab suites with new equipment
• Current unit staff have 4 or more years of RN experience
• The unit's PEM Quality metric of 83.8% exceeds the national benchmark
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
