Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Goldsboro, NC, requiring a valid NC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience.

Details

• 52-bed Emergency Department with an adjacent 4-bed Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) providing 24/7 emergency care to patients of all ages
• Patient ratio of 5 patients per 2 nurses, with approximately 196 admissions per day
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• 4 weekend shifts required per contract
• On-call required 1 shift per pay period if census drops
• Holiday coverage required as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (NC) or a compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS, and CPI-B
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Must report for drug screening within 24 hours of commitment to the position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation using the nursing process
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate complex patient care, discharge planning, and continuity of care
• Expected to identify and address cultural, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients and families
• Participates in unit performance improvement activities and professional development
• Background check and drug screen results may take a minimum of 2 weeks to process; start dates may be adjusted accordingly
• BSN or MSN preferred but not required
