Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an outpatient setting in Valdez, AK, with experience in acute care, LTC/SNF, and pediatrics preferred.

• Outpatient department that also serves inpatient, swing bed, and long-term care (LTC) populations
• Largely pediatric outpatient patient population
• Day shift, 5x8 schedule (8:00–17:00)
• Block schedule accommodations available
• EMR: Epic required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Current, active OT license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with acute disorders, chronic disorders, functional activities, standardized assessments, developmental testing/treatment, and mental retardation required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR required
• Ability to transition between inpatient, outpatient, and LTC settings
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance with rental car coverage required to operate the facility-provided vehicle
• Minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Prior pediatric and inpatient OT experience preferred
• Skills preferred include knowledge of national patient safety goals/core measures, billing, feeding techniques (oral/motor), and disability sequence testing
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff at any Providence facility must have a separation of at least 3 months before working as a traveler
• Time off requests are approved on an individual basis upon offer; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Facility provides housing (typically a 1-bedroom apartment) and a shared-use vehicle for the duration of the assignment
• Pets are not allowed in facility-provided housing; additional guests must be approved by the facility
• The facility-provided vehicle is for local use only and must not be taken off-road or beyond a 30-mile radius from the facility
• Travelers must return the vehicle during any time off and will be issued a new vehicle upon return
