Description
American Traveler is hiring a MRI Technologist with 3-5 years of experience for an evening shift contract position at a Level II Trauma Center and Magnet-designated hospital in Milwaukee, WI.
Details
- MRI department at a 933-bed Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Magnet-designated, Primary Stroke Center in Milwaukee, WI
- Department has 6 MRI scanners, currently operating 5
- Weekly census of 250-300 patients
- Patient population includes outpatient, inpatient, and ED patients with implantable devices, neuro, oncology, musculoskeletal, ventilated, sedated, and whole body cases; cardiac experience preferred
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Epic EMR required; GE Discovery 750W, Siemens Aera, and Siemens Magnetom Skyra experience required; McKesson PACS required
- 8-hour evening shifts, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM (40 hrs/week)
- Weekend rotation occurs approximately once every 8 weeks, covering Saturday 06:30 through Monday 05:30, including an on-site Saturday shift (typically 07:30–16:00) with a compensatory weekday off
- First-shift backup on-call is a weekly rotating responsibility, with each person typically assigned 1–2 backup on-call mornings per week
- Saturday and Sunday night on-call: 9:00 PM–6:30 AM; backup on-call: 6:30 AM–9:00 PM, with a 30-minute response time required
- No floating required — MRI department only
- No holiday coverage required
Requirements
- 3-5 years of MRI experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required
- Current BLS required
- Active license required if applicable
- Epic EMR experience required
- GE and Siemens MRI scanner experience required
- Experience with implantable devices, neuro, oncology, musculoskeletal, ventilated, sedated, whole body, and cardiac MRI patient types required
- Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the past year
- Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
- Candidate middle name or initial required for consideration
Additional Information
- Breast MRI, Breast MRI Biopsy, and Cardiac MRI experience is preferred
- Supported by a Lead Tech/Coordinator and Imaging Assistants; travelers are never left working alone
- 3-day orientation provided
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
- COVID vaccination required
- Professional scrubs in any color are acceptable
