Description
American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist for a 13-week night shift contract in a hospital diagnostic radiology setting, requiring ARRT RT(R) certification and an Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited program.
Details
- Hospital-based diagnostic radiology department
- 2x12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 24 hours per week
- Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computer processing, and related imaging techniques
- Works with PACS system for image archiving and verification
- Uses electronic health record (EHR) for documentation
- Coordinates with transport and nursing units for patient exams
Requirements
- Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology program required
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography - RT(R) required
- Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required
- Less than one year of general radiology experience accepted
- One year of mammography diagnostic experience required
- Must be able to perform peripheral venipuncture
- Must maintain continuing education hours as required by licensing agency
- MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and produces diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed independent practitioners
- Applies ALARA principles and proper radiation protection for patients and self
- Assists radiologists and authorized providers with exams and procedures as needed
- Conducts equipment warm-up and QC checks, including room checks and monitoring contrast reactions
- Documents patient care events including incidents, medications administered, and contrast reactions in the EHR
- Performs and documents time-out procedures for invasive procedures
- Provides supervision and instruction to imaging students on clinical rotation
- Assists with training new employees on equipment functionality, exam protocols, and modifications
- Monitors supply inventory and reports equipment malfunctions or environmental safety concerns to appropriate personnel
