Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 3 years of high-risk L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and the ability to circulate and provide newborn care.
Details
- High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting with 31 beds and an average daily census of 15 patients, with 500–600 deliveries per month
- Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adults in substance recovery through Adult Recovery Services, and community care clinic patients
- Unit is equipped with 4 ORs and operates in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
- Epic EMR is required (hard stop)
- Electronic fetal monitoring experience required (hard stop)
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Schedule is posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required to Postpartum and Antepartum, and may include float to sister facilities offering Mother/Baby care
Requirements
- Active WA state RN license or valid compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS and NRP
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate
- Minimum of 3 years of high-risk L&D experience required; 5 years strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Electronic fetal monitoring experience required
- Must be able to circulate in the OR (hard stop requirement)
- Must be able to function as baby nurse during delivery, including newborn care: eyes, Vitamin K (thighs) injections, and newborn assessments (hard stop requirement)
- Experience with Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate administration required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment required
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Current proof of required certifications required for consideration
- Active, verifiable RN license via Nursys required for consideration
- Must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per diem) including location and dates
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Former permanent staff of any Providence Swedish facility must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible; candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
- Former permanent staff of non-Swedish Providence facilities are eligible if separated for at least 3 months
- RTO is considered on a case-by-case basis; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
- Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- 13-week contract
