Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 3 Perinatal center and Magnet teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and night shift availability.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit within a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
- Level 3 Perinatal center where approximately 70% of patients are complex high-risk cases, averaging 150 births per month
- Patient population includes antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
- 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Unit includes 2 ORs for C-sections, BTLs, and postpartum D&Cs; a second L&D RN serves as 'baby catcher' for well, non-compromised newborns
- Hospital also features a Level 4 NICU serving as a regional center
- Unit provides outpatient services when the clinic is closed
- Night shifts: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM); 4x12 schedule may also be available
- Weekend availability required
- Floating within the hospital is required; floating to sister hospitals is not required
- No on-call requirements
- Charting via Epic (experience preferred but not required)
- 13-week contract with potential extension to 26 weeks; block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active WA state RN license or compact RN license required; pending license accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and FHM
- Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required; 3 years preferred
- Teaching hospital and/or trauma hospital experience preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required, no exceptions
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 1 week; no RTO may be requested during orientation week
- Former UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
- Scrubs in any color are acceptable; scrubs are provided for OR personnel
- Daily parking is available for approximately $10.26/day
