Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU and/or PICU experience for a night shift position at a Level 1 trauma children's acute care teaching hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Details
- Children's acute care teaching hospital with 400 staffed beds, designated as a Level 1 trauma facility
- Respiratory Care unit serving a pediatric patient population, including NICU and PICU
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- No floating required
- Epic EMR; experience required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Current RRT credential and BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- NICU and/or PICU experience required
- Experience in ED and pediatric critical care required
- Level 1 trauma facility experience required
- Valid Missouri state license required for consideration; Illinois candidates may be considered with a pending IL license
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care services to critically ill pediatric patients across NICU, PICU, and ED settings
- Scrub color is open; facility-branded t-shirts and jackets are also acceptable
- No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Former permanent employees of BJC facilities must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers may work at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break is required before returning
- Allied and non-clinical travelers are limited to 12 months of service, followed by a mandatory 6-month break
