Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level 2 trauma center and interventional stroke-certified facility, serving a patient population ranging from infants to geriatrics.

Details

• Level 2 trauma center, interventional stroke-certified facility with a Level 3 NICU that serves as a regional transport resource
• Primarily adult RRT work with exposure to pediatric intubated patients; patient population spans infants to geriatrics
• Responsibilities include managing non-invasive and conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, arterial line placement, arterial and capillary blood gas draws, oxygen management, and patient education
• EMR systems include Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and to a sister campus as needed
• No on-call requirements
• 12-week contract length

Requirements

• Active GA RRT license required for consideration (license required if applicable)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of RRT experience
• Trauma experience required
• Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) experience preferred
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Significant RTO blackout periods are in effect — candidates should be prepared for limited time-off flexibility during the early months of the assignment
• Holiday coverage is required: travelers must be available to work all major holidays that fall within their assignment period if one or two occur; if three major holidays fall within the assignment, two must be worked — major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs will not be placed on the same shift within the same unit
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted shift is firm
