Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an inpatient rehab unit specializing in hand injuries, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience and Modality Certification.
Details
- Outpatient hospital hand clinic setting focused on treating all types of hand injuries and conditions
- Works alongside a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) and other hand therapists in a collaborative clinic environment
- Average daily census of 9 patients
- Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
- Splinting equipment used; Modality Certification required
- EMR: Epic; Pyxis medication dispensing system
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active OT license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of relevant OT experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Modality Certification required
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
Additional Information
- Treat a variety of hand injuries and conditions in a structured clinic environment
- No special scheduling requests or alternate shifts will be accommodated
- RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work those holidays and no holiday RTO can be requested; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must work two of them and may request one holiday off for approval
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Any color scrubs are acceptable
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred
- Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
