Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Medical-Surgical unit with prior surgical experience required and night shift availability.

Details

• Inpatient Medical-Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Surgical patient population including general, abdominal, urological, orthopedic, gynecological (hysterectomy, mastectomy), spine, and bariatric surgery cases
• Accepts pediatric surgical patients aged 12 and above depending on the surgical procedure
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units is expected at times

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous surgical nursing experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, though shifts will be grouped together when possible
• Holiday coverage is expected: one holiday worked if one falls during the assignment, one of two if two fall during, and two of three if three fall during
