Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical-Surgical unit position requiring an AL or compact RN license, with night shift availability and floating responsibilities.

Details

• Medical-Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00), with an option for 4x12 shifts
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating required
• Possible charge nurse duties on an as-needed basis
• Level II Trauma experience preferred

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license required; pending license accepted
• Current BLS certification through AHA required
• Current fit test required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Proficiency in IV starts, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and may be eligible at a different rate
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
• RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the assignment
• Hospital housing is available and provided on-site; shared units with shared common spaces and private bedrooms (male or female units only); no dogs allowed; travelers coordinate housing directly with the facility
• The facility offers flight reimbursement for travel to and from the assignment; economy-class flights only
• A 30-minute meal break is required per shift; skipped meals are not permitted
