Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a night shift weekend position at an acute care hospital in Atlantis, FL, requiring 2+ years of hospital experience and active RDMS & RVT certifications.
Details
- Ultrasound department within a 472-bed acute care medical/surgical facility and healthcare complex
- Department is equipped with 4 scanners and 4 tables, staffed by 4 techs per 12-hour shift around the clock
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Equipment includes GE, 1.5T, Discovery 450, X-Ray, MRI, and CT machines
- EMR: Meditech
- Friday through Sunday night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
- Heavy call requirement
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hospital experience as an Ultrasound Tech, with active experience within the last 6 months
- Active BLS, RDMS, and RVT certifications required
- ACLS preferred but not required
- License required if applicable
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two professional references required (Florida positions)
- Must not have gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Ability to work independently is required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include operating ultrasound equipment to create diagnostic images of internal structures including bones, organs, and soft tissues
- The facility specializes in cardiovascular care, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, bariatrics, and Women's Services, and is a nationally recognized teaching facility
- Gray scrubs required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- ACLS certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
- First-time travelers are expected to be critical thinkers who are adaptable, flexible, and comfortable working independently on nights and weekends
