Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg Combination unit in Elko, NV, requiring at least 1 year of experience and current AHA certifications for a 13-week assignment.
Details
- Acute care Med/Surg Combination unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Common diagnoses and treatments include COPD, CHF, pre/post cath lab, orthopedic and general surgery, and acute respiratory failure in both adult and pediatric patients
- 23-bed unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Equipment includes Omnicell medication dispensers, Baxter pumps, Masimo monitors, and a GE telemetry monitoring system
- EMR: MEDHOST
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other departments possible based on patient census and departmental needs
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA-issued); ACLS must be obtained within 60 days and PALS within 90 days of start date if not currently held
- Candidate must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Med/Surg and telemetry experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care across a combined med/surg, telemetry, and pediatrics environment
- No mandatory scrub color — any color scrubs are acceptable
- On-site fit testing is available for travelers
- Weekly orientations are available
- Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
- Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
- Local candidates are accepted provided they meet the 60-mile radius requirement
