Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery Operating Room position requiring current AWHONN or GE Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification and prior L&D experience.

Details

• Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery Operating Room unit caring for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
• Unit includes a 3-bay OBED, 20 labor rooms, 3 ORs, and 3 PACU bays
• Cares for high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients
• Circulates for C-sections and provides OB triage services
• Travelers will function in OBED, L&D, and OB PACU but will not circulate OR cases
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• Works 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, totaling 48 hours weekly
• Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• Current and active Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification through AWHONN or GE required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Previous Labor & Delivery experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Able to circulate for C-sections and triage for OB patients

Additional Information

• Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care and promote continuity
• Assess and address discharge planning needs, including cultural and ethnic considerations
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and promote cost-effective, safe care
