Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center in Ohio, requiring 2+ years of ER experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

  • Hospital emergency department setting
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
  • Patient ratio of 1:3.5
  • Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system in use
  • Cases include triage, trauma, psych holds, pediatric emergencies, ventilated patients, procedural sedation, dysrhythmia management, and emergency medication administration
  • Floating is required
  • Every other or every third weekend required
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Proficiency with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care required
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co-worker references are not accepted
  • Experience in a Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility preferred

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

  • 36 hours of orientation provided
  • Navy scrubs required
  • Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting the position — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet upon receipt
  • Former employees of this facility are eligible after a minimum 6-month separation
  • Any requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration and is limited to 7 days or less for the contract period
  • Multiple parking permit options are available for agency staff near the medical center, ranging from on-site garage access to budget shuttle-based options
