Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for an Ortho/Med-Surg unit requiring ACLS, BLS, and Med-Surg experience for a 13-week night shift assignment.
Details
- Post-surgical Ortho/Med-Surg unit with 22 beds and 36 staff members
- Patient ratio of 1:5 with ancillary support
- Common procedures include Tarlov/meningeal cyst removal, joint reconstruction, hip and knee surgery, and lumbar/cervical disc and orthopedic spine surgery
- Equipment used includes PCA pumps, ice machines, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, telemetry boxes, and IV pumps
- Uses Meditech EMR
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- No on-call requirements
- Frequent floating within the facility to Telemetry, with occasional floating to another facility location
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg experience required
- Ortho experience and PCU experience preferred
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Professional reference required (two references required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
Additional Information
- Provide post-surgical nursing care to orthopedic and spine patients
- Heavier patient volume typically occurs mid-week, requiring flexibility with scheduling
- Excessive RTO requests will not be approved
- Energetic, team-oriented personality is a strong fit for this unit
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
