Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Fort Worth, TX, requiring strong neurosurgery experience and an active TX RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based acute care OR setting with 17 beds, including CVOR and transplant capabilities
- Surgical specialties include high-volume general surgery, neurosurgery (craniotomies, spine), orthopedics, robotics, urology, plastics, cardiac, and transplant — approximately 85% spine and 15% brain cases
- Patient ratio is 1:1 with 1–2 surgical techs per case
- 12-hour day shifts (6:30 AM–7:00 PM) Monday, Thursday, and Friday, or 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM–5:00 PM) Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
- On-call responsibilities are required
- Floating is required on an as-needed basis
- Documents Meditech EMR; experience preferred
- Robotic equipment in use includes Da Vinci XI, Globus, Mako, and surgical microscopes
Requirements
- Active TX RN license required; temporary licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a hospital or acute care setting (surgery center experience does not qualify)
- Neurosurgery experience required; strong neuro background is essential
- SSN (US only) and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
- Performs scrub and/or circulating duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including neuro, cardiac, ortho, robotic, and transplant cases
- Facility provides scrubs for RNs
- Nail policy prohibits gel or artificial nails; natural nails must not exceed ¼" beyond fingertips
- Hair must be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors; facial hair must be neatly trimmed
- Visible body piercings other than ears are prohibited; tattoos should be covered when possible
- Robotic experience (Da Vinci XI, Globus, Mako) is preferred
- Meditech EMR experience is preferred
- Weekend scheduling requirements will be discussed during the interview
