Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Nurse Educator for a Neurosurgical ICU position requiring a BSN, active MT RN license, and a minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
Details
- 13-week travel contract in a hospital-based Neurosurgical ICU setting
- Role focuses on nursing education, professional development, and staff training rather than direct patient care
- Variable schedule with 40 hours per week
- Weekends and after-hours shifts may be required
- On-call responsibilities may be required to respond to organizational, patient, or employee needs
Requirements
- Active MT RN license (or Compact license) currently in hand
- BSN required; MSN preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience and/or equivalent health teaching experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in education, training, administration, management, or leadership
- Instructor certification in AHA disciplines, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., or TeamSTEPPS preferred
- Certification in Nursing Professional Development or area of specialty preferred
- 1 year of experience as a clinical nurse educator or in a staff development role preferred
- Proficiency with computer applications including MS Office, EMR systems, and internet applications
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, reaching, and bending
Additional Information
- Develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and revises nursing professional development activities including orientation, precepting, transition to practice programs, simulations, competency validation, and continuing education courses
- Serves as a nurse planner for continuing nursing education according to MNA and ANCC criteria
- Promotes evidence-based practice and serves as a program administrator for Lippincott Nursing Procedures
- Candidates must reside at least 90 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, chemicals, medications, and emotionally challenging situations
