Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position working night shifts at a hospital in Wichita, KS, with a minimum of 2 years of experience and required dysrhythmia interpretation skills.

• Located on the 3rd floor of the main building at a hospital in Wichita, KS
• 8-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Staffing model includes 2 RNs and 1 PCT per shift
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Equipment used includes EKG, BiPAP/CPAP, heated high flow, and cardiac/respiratory monitors
• EMR system: Meditech
• Procedures include cardiac monitoring, medication management, respiratory support, post-surgical care, and blood transfusions
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active KS RN license or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience; at least 1 year must be in a PCU setting
• Dysrhythmia interpretation skills required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• BSN preferred
• Leadership experience, such as relief charge, is preferred
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach are valued on this unit
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• AHA or ARC certifications accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
