Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position working night shifts at a hospital in Wichita, KS, with a minimum of 2 years of experience and required dysrhythmia interpretation skills.
Details
- Located on the 3rd floor of the main building at a hospital in Wichita, KS
- 8-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Staffing model includes 2 RNs and 1 PCT per shift
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Equipment used includes EKG, BiPAP/CPAP, heated high flow, and cardiac/respiratory monitors
- EMR system: Meditech
- Procedures include cardiac monitoring, medication management, respiratory support, post-surgical care, and blood transfusions
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active KS RN license or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience; at least 1 year must be in a PCU setting
- Dysrhythmia interpretation skills required
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- BSN preferred
- Leadership experience, such as relief charge, is preferred
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach are valued on this unit
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- AHA or ARC certifications accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
