Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Inpatient Rehab position in Independence, MO, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient rehabilitation unit located on the 4th floor of a main hospital building
• 16-bed unit with a 1:5 patient-to-nurse ratio
• PCT support available when census is at 8 or above; no unit secretary on staff
• Equipment includes Sara Steady lift, Hoyer lift, and Alaris Pumps
• Documentation system: Meditech 5.6
• Schedule requires 3 shifts per week, every 3rd weekend
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Contract duration: 12 weeks
• Travelers float first to like units per the floating policy

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
• Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient rehab RN experience
• Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Familiarity with FIM and CARE Tool measures preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two professional references required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include wound care, IV line insertion, and blood and antibiotic administration
• Patient care duties include goal setting with patients, hourly rounding, and bedside shift report
• One-week orientation is included in the contract
• Current unit staff have 4 or more years of RN experience, offering a strong and experienced support team
• All rooms are private and set up as Rehab Suites with new equipment
• Block scheduling is available upon request
• The unit's PEM Quality metric of 83.8% exceeds the national benchmark
• Grey scrub top with black or grey scrub bottoms required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
