Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level I Trauma Center in Chicago, IL, requiring 3 years of CT experience and ARRT certification.

Details

• Work in a CT department at a 397-bed Level I Trauma Center, Level III Perinatal Center, Magnet-designated, Comprehensive Stroke Center teaching hospital in Chicago, IL
• Patient population includes inpatient, outpatient, and ED cases, including trauma and stroke
• 1:1 patient ratio with an average of 15 scans per day
• GE CT equipment required; image processing handled by a third-party service
• Charting via Epic (experience required); Alaris and Pyxis also used
• 10-hour evening shifts, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday with alternating weekend rotation
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• No floating required

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of CT Technologist experience, with most recent experience within the last year
• Active ARRT certification and BLS required
• Active license required if applicable
• Proficiency with IV skills and power injection required
• Experience with GE CT equipment required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced trauma and stroke environment
• Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the last year
• Candidate DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
• Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restrictions apply
• Unit support includes a receptionist on day shift, a hospitalist/physician available after hours, and both transport and tech aides
• Radiology coverage provided by an on-site resident
• 1-day on-unit orientation
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved
• Holiday coverage expected when possible
• Gray scrubs required
• Parking is available near the facility; the location is also accessible via the CTA Brown Line
