Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level 1 Trauma Center teaching hospital in Chicago, IL, requiring 3 years of CT experience and ARRT certification.

Details

• Work in the CT department of a Level 1 Trauma Center, Level III Perinatal Center, Magnet-designated, Comprehensive Stroke Center teaching hospital in Chicago, IL
• Inpatient, outpatient, and ED patient population with a 1:1 patient ratio
• Average of approximately 15 scans per day
• Image processing handled by a third-party service
• GE equipment required; also uses Alaris and Pyxis
• Epic EMR
• 10-hour evening shifts, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Holiday coverage requested when possible
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• No floating required

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of CT experience, with most recent experience within the last year
• Current BLS and ARRT certification required
• IL license required if applicable
• Proficiency with IV skills and power injection required
• Experience with GE CT equipment required
• Comfort with trauma, stroke, and fast-paced environments required
• Epic EMR experience
• Must provide a minimum of 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Candidate middle name or initial required for consideration

Additional Information

• Unit is staffed with a receptionist on day shift; a hospitalist/physician is available after hours
• A transport aide and tech aide are both available on the unit
• A resident radiologist is on-site
• Weekend night shift staffing includes 1 tech and a tech aide on Fridays, and 2 techs and a tech aide on Saturdays and Sundays
• Orientation consists of 1 day on the unit
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved
• Gray scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius rule applies
• Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for this travel position
